Sunday at the zoo

Dimanche, on a été courageux et on a bravé les températures hivernales de San Francisco (16ºC, contre 25ºC à Palo Alto) pour emmener Mamina (et Tipoulet) au zoo. Ben, ça valait le coup!!

Tipoulet a beaucoup aimé les girafes,




les pingouins,



les spots lumineux dans les souterrains,



et le gros lion (intérêt réciproque apparemment);




et Mamina a eu un faible pour les paons (équivalent local du pigeon parisien, ou de l'écureuil palo altien) et les girafes.





On en a aussi profité pour manger typique américain: pop-corn et frites exclusivement, Tipoulet a adoré.



Une excellente journée, donc! On y retournera, mais cette fois en été (donc novembre-décembre à San Francisco)...

On Sunday, we did not let the wintery temperatures of San Francisco (60 º F, versus 77 º C in Palo Alto) scare us and took Mamina (and Tipoulet) to the zoo. Well, it was worth it! Tipoulet loved the giraffes, penguins, the lights in the underpath and the big lion (there was apparently mutual interest there); Mamina had a weakness for the peacocks (local equivalent of the Parisian pigeon or the Palo altan squirrel) and giraffes. We also had typical American foods for lunch: popcorn and french fries only, Tipoulet loved it.
It was a great day overall! We will go back, but this time in summertime (ie November-December in San Francisco)...
