Yearly patriotic picture

À l'inverse des Français de France, nous, on apprécie quand le 14 Juillet tombe un week-end. Ça nous permet de marquer un tout petit peu le coup. Ce matin, j'ai annoncé à Tipoulet qu'aujourd'hui, on s'habillait en bleu, blanc et rouge, parce que c'était la tradition. C'est vrai, après tout, les Américains s'habillent bien en vert pour la St Patrick tous les ans...

Pour profiter du beau temps et s'offrir un joli panorama pour notre photo annuelle, on est allé au Foothills Park de Palo Alto.

Pour finir la journée, ça a été barbecue (parce que les Américains ont bien raison sur ce coup-là) et une tarte aux fruits bien frenchie.

Joyeux 14 Juillet!

In contrast to our compatriots from France, we're happy when Bastille Day falls on a week-end. Because then we have more time to do something special. This morning I told Tipoulet that the tradition was to dress in blue, white and red, today. After all, Americans dress in green for St Patrick every year, so why not?

In order to enjoy the warm weather and get a nice background for our yearly picture, we headed to the Foothills Park. And then, it was time for another barbecue (because, really, the Americans got this one right), and a very french-looking summer tart.
