The world of denim

J'ai récemment offert à P un jean de ma marque favorite, après 2 ans à tenter de le convaincre que, non, ils ne font pas que des jeans de gonzesses. Le jean lui allait super bien, P le trouvait très confortable, bref, ils étaient faits l'un pour l'autre.

Sauf que. Après à peine 2 mois, le jean commençait déjà à s'user, ce qui ne m'était jamais arrivé avec les miens. Email au service clientèle, et comme à l'habitude ici, en 2 jours, c'était réglé, ils nous en envoient un autre. Par contre, sur le pourquoi du comment du problème, je suis un peu plus perplexe...

Extrait d'un email du service clientèle:
"Le monde du denim s'oriente maintenant vers un denim plus léger, plus confortable et qui s'adapte au corps parfaitement. Par conséquent, cela peut entraîner une "usure" plus rapide du jean.
Je ne sais pas combien de fois par mois le jean est lavé, mais je conseille généralement à mes clients biip de ne laver leur jean qu'une fois tous les 3-4 mois, parce que le lavage agresse le coton. Si vous faites une tache, lavez le avec la fermeture éclair fermée, puisqu'elle peut également avoir abîmé le jean pendant le lavage. Prenez soin de le laver à l'envers, à froid et de ne le mettre dans le sèche-linge que 10 minutes au maximum. La chaleur du sèche-linge abîme l'elastane.
Si le jean sent mauvais, vous pouvez le nettoyer à la vapeur pendant que vous prenez une douche ou le mettre dans le congélateur pendant environ une heure. Le froid va tuer toutes les bactéries sans détériorer le jean."

Sérieusement?!?!

I recently got P a pair of jeans from my favorite brand, after two years of trying to convince him that no, they don't just make chicks jeans. The jeans fit him really well, P was very comfortable, all in all, they were made for one another.
Except that. After just two months, the jeans already began to wear, which never happened to any of mine. So I emailed customer service, and as usual in the US, within two days, it was taken care of, they were sending us another one. But, as to the reason of the wear problem, I'm a little less impressed ...
Excerpt from a customer service email:
"Currently in the world of denim, we are making the denim lighter in weight to fit the body flawlessly and more comfortably. Therefore, this can cause the denim to "wear and tear" faster.
I'm not sure how many times a month the denim is being washed, but I like to advise my biip customers to only wash their denim once every few months, because the washing process will break down the cotton. If you spill anything on the denim, then you should wash them with the zipper up, the zipper in the wash could have also frayed the denim. Also, wash them inside out on cold and only put in the dryer for 10 minutes MAX. The heat from your dryer will break down the stretch content in the denim.
For jeans that smell, you can steam clean while you take a shower or put them in the freezer for about an hour. The freezer will kill any bacteria on your denim and will not weaken the denim in any way."
