We had a little problem in our backyard recently: our (3) rose bushes were completely covered with aphids. So we headed to our local hardware store thinking of buying some sort of pesticide. But after asking an employee for advice, we left with a big box of ladybugs.
Honestly, we were not super convinced that these ladies were going to work all that well, but Tipoulet was excited, he brought his box of ladybugs to daycare the next day and it didn't hurt to try ...
So we released as many ladybugs as we could onto the rose bushes, and waited to see what would happen.
Well, actually, the ladybugs did an awesome job, they worked so well! They didn't leave until the last aphid was eaten. I was blown away.
I love when feel-good solutions are also the most efficient ones !
