We canceled the whale-watching trip. I know it sucks, but we got scared a little. Some friends told us they had gone in August, and everyone on the boat had been sick. So it looks like it's better to go in October... And blue whales have been scarcer in recent days. Plus honestly, we weren't too excited about driving 4 hours again this weekend ... So, anyway, no whales after all. We still went to the ocean, and since, for once, it was low tide in the middle of the afternoon, we visited the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve in Moss Beach, close to Half Moon Bay. The tide can apparently be much higher, but there were already lots of tide pools to explore, full of animals: we saw small fish, hermit crabs, crabs, anemones. There were even seals swimming close by.
