I update this blog so often it's hard to follow, isn't it? I thought time passed by too quickly, but right now it feels like it's going to be a very long 4 years...

October fun - before November blew it

That picture is already a few months old, but I'll still post it here, to avoid losing it somewhere in the mess that has become my hard drive. Because they're beyond cute, the cousins, during the Euro last summer!

The gardian angel
* le point de rendez-vous de l'after-school
** il n'en avait jamais parlé, ça fait trois ans, je ne pensais pas qu'il s'en rappelait...
Tipoulet, on the first morning of school: "Maman, are you gonna come after school to walk La Poulette to the Tree, like you did for me?"
Me: "I would love to, mon amour, but you know, I work in the city now. I can't come back at noon..."
Tipoulet: "Hum. Okay."
I learned from La Poulette's teacher a few days later that Tipoulet came to La Poulette's classroom at dismissal and walked her to the Tree himself...
* the meeting point of their after-school
** he had never mentioned that again, it's been three years, I didn't think he remembered...

Down to one drop-off
It looks like we survived the first week of school, people! We now have one Kindergatner and one third-grader. And three more years with only one drop-off!

The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco*
Last weekend, considering that the Peninsula was bracing for a heatwave, we drove to San Francisco to get a little breeze... We got way more than we asked for. Thankfully, the kids didn't stop running and jumping around, so they didn't really get cold. Unlike their parents...
Even now that I work in the city, I still struggle to get used to it. With a 45 minutes of train/car ride, the temperature systematically drops by 20 degrees...
And along the same line, we're flying to Paris tomorrow, and Mamybelle just suggested that I take my puff jacket...
* one of the famous quotes from Mark Twain, which he apparently never said.
