Scary zombies

C'est La Poulette qui avait eu l'idée de notre thème, cette année. Depuis un mois, à chaque fois que quelqu'un lui posait la question de ce qu'elle serait pour Halloween, elle répondait sans aucune hésitation: "A scary zombie!" Et continuait en pointant du doit le endroits où elle aurait du sang...

Et puis, alors que je finissais de maquiller son frère, ça lui a fait un peu peur... Et elle a préféré faire son propre maquillage...

La Poulette came up with the idea for our theme, this year. For an entire month, every time someone asked what she was going to be for Halloween, she'd say without missing a beat: "A scary zombie!"And would proceed by pointing to all the spots she'd have blood on.
But then, as I was finishing her brother's makeup, she got a little scared. And chose to do her own makeup instead...

Pony ride

Le commentaire de La Poulette, quand je lui ai demandé si elle voulait faire un tour de poney au Pumpkin Patch: "Mais Maman, pourquoi toi tu nous emmènes tout le temps à des trucs avec des poneys?!?...". Genre. Ça faisait bien 3 ans qu'elle n'était pas montée sur un poney, depuis la dernière fois qu'elle m'a d'ailleurs laissé décider quelque chose à sa place...

Finalement, elle a quand même bien aimé. Tipoulet, lui, a décidé qu'il était trop grand pour les poneys...

Par contre, il n'y a pas d'âge pour les bouncy houses et petting zoos, et ils ont toujours autant de succès...

Here's what La Poulette had to say when I asked her whether she wanted to go on a pony ride at the Pumpkin Patch: "But Mommy, why do you always take us to places with ponies?!?..." Right. She hadn't been on a pony in 3 years, the last time she let me actually decide something for her...
She still seemed to like it, though. Tipoulet, on the other hand, had decided that he was too old for pony rides...
But you're never too old for bouncy houses and petting zoos, and these were a blast, as always...

Blood Red Moon

Un nuage en 37 jours, et il a fallu qu'il s'installe juste devant la lune, le soir de l'éclipse de lune avec supermoon qui n'arrivera à nouveau qu'en 2033... Are you kidding me?!? La lune a quand même fini par s'échapper 3 minutes APRÈS la fin de l'éclipse totale, d'où le croissant blanc...

One cloud in 37 days, and it had to settle right in front of the supermoon on the night of the lunar eclipse that won't happen again until 2033... Are you kidding me?!? The moon finally managed to escape 3 minutes AFTER the end of the total eclipse, hence the white crescent...

Back to school!

Et voilà, c'était la rentrée des classes ce matin! Second-grade pour Tipoulet, et dernière année de pre-school pour la Poulette. On était assez à l'heure pour faire les photos d'usage, mais vous noterez que personne n'était très réveillé...
